Who we are
Welcome to Puppy Protégé Dog Training! My name is Mikaela Geist, and I’m thrilled to share my journey and passion for dog training with you.
I’m a proud graduate of Iowa State University, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Animal Science. My journey into dog training began in 2018, starting with private, in-home sessions. This hands-on experience allowed me to understand the unique needs of each dog and their human companions, setting the foundation for what would become my true calling.
In January 2024, I took a significant step forward by offering my very first group class with the help of Steckelberg Veterinary Clinic in Conrad, IA. This milestone represents the culmination of years of dedicated volunteer work with dogs in shelters, where I honed my skills and deepened my commitment to enhancing the human-animal bond.
At Puppy Protégé, my approach is rooted in the belief that there is no single right way to train a dog. Instead, I focus on training the dog in front of me, tailoring my methods to suit each individual dog’s (and human’s) needs and personality. Whether it’s raising a puppy, learning basic obedience, or dealing with behavioral issues, my goal is to create a positive, effective learning experience for both dogs and their owners.
I’m also a proud dog parent myself, sharing my life with Hank, a lovable designer mutt, and Reggie, a devoted Doberman. My personal experiences with my own dogs continue to shape and inspire my training philosophy.
Thank you for considering Puppy Protégé Dog Training. I’m excited to partner with you and your canine companion to build a stronger, more harmonious relationship.
Let’s embark on this training journey together!
Warm regards,
Mikaela
